English Translation
My Bengal of gold, I love you.
Forever your skies, your air
Set my heart in tune as if it were a flute.
O mother, the fragrance from your mango groves
Makes me wild with joy —
Ah, what a thrill!
In springtime, in your fields of ripening grain,
I have seen the sweet smile of fulfillment.
What beauty, what shade,
What affection, and what tenderness!
What a quilt have you spread
At the feet of banyan trees and along the banks of rivers!
Mother, your words are like nectar to my ears —
They fill my heart with delight.
বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় পতাকা একটি আয়তাকার সবুজ কাপড়ের উপর লাল বৃত্ত দ্বারা গঠিত।
পটভূমির রঙ: গাঢ় সবুজ, যা আমাদের উর্বর ভূমি, প্রকৃতি এবং প্রাণশক্তির প্রতীক।
লাল বৃত্ত: পতাকার মাঝ বরাবর সামান্য বাঁ দিকে অবস্থান করে। এটি সূর্যের প্রতীক এবং ১৯৭১ সালের মুক্তিযুদ্ধে শহীদদের রক্তের স্মারক।
অনুপাত: পতাকার দৈর্ঘ্য ও প্রস্থের অনুপাত ১০:৬।
বৃত্তের অবস্থান: পতাকার দৈর্ঘ্যের ১/৫ অংশ বামে সরানো থাকে এবং ব্যাস পতাকার দৈর্ঘ্যের ১/৫ অংশ।
অর্থ: সবুজ আমাদের প্রকৃতি, আশা এবং জীবনের প্রতীক; লাল সূর্য নতুন উদয়ের প্রতীক এবং স্বাধীনতার জন্য রক্তদানের স্মারক।
The national flag of Bangladesh consists of a red circle on a green rectangular background.
Background color: Deep green, symbolizing the lush greenery of the land and the vitality of nature.
Red circle: Placed slightly toward the hoist (left) side of the flag. It represents the rising sun and commemorates the blood of the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971.
Proportion: The length-to-width ratio of the flag is 10:6.
Position of the circle: The circle is shifted 1/5 of the length toward the hoist, with its diameter equal to 1/5 of the length of the flag.
Meaning: Green stands for youth, vitality, and the natural beauty of Bangladesh; the red circle represents the rising sun of independence and the supreme sacrifice of those who laid down their lives.
বল তো, তুমি কি দেখতে পাচ্ছো ভোরের প্রথম আলোয়,
যে পতাকাকে আমরা গোধূলির শেষ রশ্মিতে গর্বভরে অভিবাদন জানিয়েছিলাম?
যার প্রশস্ত দাগ ও উজ্জ্বল তারা জ্বলজ্বল করছিল ভয়ংকর যুদ্ধে,
দুর্গের প্রাচীরের উপর আমরা যাকে সাহসের সাথে উড়তে দেখেছিলাম।
রকেটের লাল আগুন, আকাশে ফেটে পড়া বোমার আলো,
প্রমাণ দিয়েছিল—রাতভর আমাদের পতাকা এখনও ওখানেই উড়ছে।
বল তো, সেই তারা-খচিত পতাকা কি এখনও উড়ছে,
স্বাধীনদের ভূমি ও সাহসীদের গৃহের উপর?
O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
আমেরিকার পতাকা সাধারণত “Stars and Stripes” নামে পরিচিত।
নকশা: পতাকায় রয়েছে ১৩টি সমান্তরাল লাল ও সাদা দাগ (স্ট্রাইপ), এবং বাম দিকের উপরের কোণে একটি নীল আয়তক্ষেত্র (Union বা Canton) যার মধ্যে রয়েছে ৫০টি সাদা তারা।
স্ট্রাইপ (১৩টি): লাল ও সাদা মিলিয়ে মোট ১৩টি দাগ, যা আমেরিকার স্বাধীনতার জন্য লড়াই করা মূল ১৩টি উপনিবেশকে (colonies) প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে।
তারা (৫০টি): নীল বর্গক্ষেত্রের মধ্যে থাকা ৫০টি সাদা তারা যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বর্তমান ৫০টি অঙ্গরাজ্যকে নির্দেশ করে।
রঙের অর্থ:
লাল: সাহস ও দৃঢ়তা।
সাদা: বিশুদ্ধতা ও নিষ্পাপতা।
নীল: সতর্কতা, অধ্যবসায় ও ন্যায়বিচার।
অনুপাত: পতাকার দৈর্ঘ্য ও প্রস্থের অনুপাত ১০:১৯।
